A Man’s Fiancée Asked His Grandmother to Bake an Elaborate Wedding Cake, Then Refused to Pay – So His Sister Gave Her a Wedding Gift She’d Never Forget

“You did nothing wrong,” he told her firmly. “Nothing.”

Then Daniel took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry I didn’t discover what kind of person Ashley was before I married her. It’s going to be a mess to undo this.”

I nearly fell out of my chair.

Grandma went pale, begging him not to say such things.

But Ashley had heard him.

“Undo what?” she demanded.

Daniel stood and faced her.

“Our marriage.”

Ashley gave a strained laugh.

“You’re joking.”

“I’m not.”

“You’re going to ruin our wedding over a cake?”

“No, Ashley. The cake was never the problem.”

She pointed at me, accusing me of manipulating him and deliberately setting her up.

Daniel shook his head.

“She didn’t make this decision for me. You did, with your own words. I can’t build a life with someone who treats a vulnerable member of my family with that kind of contempt.”
