Several more letters followed, in which the stalker described in disturbing detail the behavior of the new owners of the house, which had been built in 1905.
As a result, the family decided to sell the property and sue the previous owners, who had failed to inform them about the situation.
The final letter the Broaddus family received as they decided to flee read:
“The house despises you.
The Watcher has won.”
During the police investigation, authorities determined that the DNA belonged to a woman.
However, the true identity of the person behind the harassment remains a mystery to this day.
