My Daughter Brought a Heavily Tattooed Biker to Our Family Dinner and Introduced Him as Her Fiancé – My Husband Went Pale the Moment the Man Removed His Jacket

I thought my daughter’s surprise engagement would be the hardest thing to process that night. Then one small detail at dinner connected her fiancé to a part of my husband’s past I’d never known existed. By the end of the evening, I was questioning more than just how quickly she’d fallen in love.
My daughter had been home for less than an hour when my husband looked at her fiancé’s arm and went completely pale.

Until then, the biggest shock had been their engagement.

Alice had spent almost three months in London. When she texted that she was finally coming home for dinner and bringing “someone important,” I assumed she meant a boyfriend.

I wasn’t prepared for the man standing beside her when I opened the door.

He was tall and broad-shouldered, with a beard, tattoos, boots, and a black biker jacket.

Then Alice grinned and lifted her left hand.

“Mom, Dad… this is my fiancé.”

Behind me, Patrick nearly dropped his glass.

“You’re engaged?”

Alice gave a nervous laugh. “Surprise?”

I stared at the ring, then at her.

“You went to London for one summer.”

“I was there for almost three months.”

“Exactly. That’s barely enough time to learn where someone keeps their toothpaste.”

The man beside her smiled—not smugly, but like he understood I needed a moment to process everything.

Alice touched his arm.

“This is Aaron.”

He offered me his hand.

“It’s really good to meet you.”

His voice was surprisingly quiet.

That threw me more than the tattoos.

“I’m Jess, and this is my husband, Patrick.”

I hugged Alice first because I’d missed her too much to stay annoyed.

Then I looked at Aaron.

“Come inside before my neighbors decide I’ve joined a biker gang.”

Alice groaned.

“Mom.”
