“She never told me there was a problem!”
That’s when an older gentleman sitting beside his original seat spoke up.
“Actually, she asked you to move your leg at least four times.”
The man froze.
The gentleman continued.
“I heard everything. You laughed at her and told her she didn’t deserve the space.”
A woman across the aisle nodded.
“I heard it too.”
Suddenly, the man who had spent four hours humiliating me couldn’t find a single word to say.
The attendant looked directly at him.
“Sir, everyone is entitled to the seat they purchased. Please return to yours.”
He sat down, furious.
But twenty minutes later, something even more surprising happened.
He walked back toward me.
This time, his voice was quiet.
“Look, I’m sorry, okay?”
I looked at him.
“Sorry for what?”
He hesitated.
“For making you uncomfortable.”
Then he leaned closer.
“But you’re not going to file an official complaint, are you? I travel for business all the time.”
